Prof. Nayoung Kim (Korea Polytechnics) has been serving as the manager of the review process of Modern English Education since 2021. She holds a Ph.D. in second language acquisition from Sookmyung Women's University, specifically in task-based language teaching. Her main research interests include instructional second language acquisition, task-based language teaching with particular focuses on the roles of tasks, input, interaction, and teachers in class, classroom discourse, ESP, and curriculum development. She has been recently publishing in Language Teaching Research and Journal of Asia TEFL and has reviewed many academic papers in TESOL Quarterly, Language Teaching Research, and other international journals.
Prof. Hyun-Jin Kim (Ajou University) has been serving as the manager of the review process of Modern English Education since 2020. With a Ph.D. in Linguistics from Indiana University at Bloomington, specializing in second language acquisition (SLA) and psycholinguistics, Prof. Kim is in charge of teaching English courses at Ajou University. Prof. Kim’s research interests include SLA of tense and aspect, sentence processing, psycholinguistics, and English language teaching (ELT). Her scholarly pursuits delve into understanding the intricate processes and mechanisms involved in acquiring a second language.
Prof. Hyun-Ju Kim (Dankook University) has been serving as a board member for three journals: Modern English Education since 2021, English Teaching since 2018, and English Language Assessment since 2014. She obtained her Ph.D. in English as a Foreign/Second Language Education, specializing in language assessment, from the University of Iowa. Prof. Kim's research interests encompass various areas, including second language acquisition, teaching methodology, language assessment, and world Englishes. She has an extensive publication record, with over 50 papers and book chapters. Her notable works, such as "Instructional Guidance for Promoting Creativity in English as a Foreign Language Writing Classrooms: A Korean Case Study" (published in RELC Journal) and "World Englishes in language testing: a call for research" (published in English Today), have been featured in respected international journals.
Prof. Inyoung Shin (Namseoul University) has been serving as the manager of the publication process of Modern English Education since 2021. She obtained her Ph.D. in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from University College London Institute of Education. Prof. Shin's research interests cover a broad range of subjects, including English for Academic Purposes, English for Science and Technology, and e-learning. Her work, which has been featured in respected international journals such as English Teaching, Pan-Pacific Association of Applied Linguistics, and Indian Journal of Science and Technology, consists of numerous published papers.
Prof. Seonmin Huh (Chungbuk National University) has held the position of Ethics Editor of Modern English Education since 2021. She holds a Ph.D. in language education, with a specific focus on literacy education, obtained from Indiana University Bloomington, U.S.A. Prof. Huh's research interests span various areas, including critical literacy, critical reading and writing, the development of innovative teaching pedagogies of literacy, team-teaching, and native speaking teachers of English. With a rich publication record of over 30 papers and book chapters, Prof. Huh has made notable contributions to the field. Her recent research has been published in esteemed international journals such as Language Teaching Research, Asia EFL Journal, English Teaching, and Critical Inquiry in Language Studies.
Prof. Donghyun Kim (Kumoh National Institute of Technology) has been serving on the Statistics Editor of Modern English Education since 2021. He earned his PhD in linguistics, specializing in psycholinguistics, from McGill University. Prof. Kim's research interests cover a broad range of topics, including second language speech and word learning, individual differences in language processing and learning, and pronunciation teaching and learning. His recent research has been published in renowned international journals such as Journal of Phonetics, Language, Cognition and Neuroscience, and Linguistic Vanguard.
Ms. Jin-Hee Hong has a notable career with the Korean Studies Information Corporation, where she has played a crucial role in providing a comprehensive database of 3,320 journals from 1,330 academic societies for 750 different institutions and companies worldwide, including Modern English Education. Ms. Hong is highly regarded as one of the leading layout specialists in Korea, showcasing her exceptional expertise in this field.
